Tea Parties Marching on Media Outlets Oct. 17!
Obviously, the "main stream" media are hard of hearing and seeing. About 2 million mad-as-hell taxpayers assembling in Washington, D.C. for the largest-ever (most well-behaved ever, most respectful ever) protest did not make it onto their radar screens (or our TV screens). They need our help. Maybe we cannot repeat an assembly of 2 million mad-as-hell taxpaying patriots in one place, but surely those who longed to go and couldn’t would love to be a part of Operation "Can You Hear Us Now?" I’ll bet for every one patriot who went to D.C. there are 10-20 more who wished they could have been there as well.
Berkeley may sign onto U.N. treaties
Berkeley would become the first city in the United States to independently try to comply with U.N. treaties on torture, civil rights and racial discrimination, if the City Council passes a measure on the issue tonight."It's critical that cities and counties, not just nations, make these reports to the U.N.," said Ann Fagan Ginger, head of the Meiklejohn Civil Liberties Institute in Berkeley. "To relate directly to the U.N. is the closest way we have of supporting the rights spelled out in these treaties."

Proposed government force adoption if mother refused to get abortion. Obama science czar John Holdren stated in a college textbook that "illegitimate children" born to unwed mothers could be taken by the government and put up for adoption if the mother refused to have an abortion.
Bank Pulls Back From Acorn Work
Already facing the loss of federal government funding, the community-organizing group Acorn also has run afoul of one of its big corporate partners, Bank of America Corp. In response to questions from The Wall Street Journal, a spokesman for the banking company said it has "suspended current commitments" to Acorn Housing, an affiliated group, and "will not enter into any further agreements with Acorn or any of its affiliates," pending assessments by the bank of the organization's operations.

Obama's Phony Healthcare Horror Stories
One of President Barack Obama's healthcare "horror stories" is about a woman who, he says, lost her health insurance on the verge of breast cancer surgery because she didn't disclose a case of acne to the insurer. That's not what happened.
High Court Will Decide Whether Strict Gun Laws Violate Second Amendment Rights
Supreme Court agreed Wednesday to decide whether strict local and state gun control laws violate the Second Amendment, ensuring another high-profile battle over the rights of gun owners. The court said it will review a lower court ruling that upheld a handgun ban in Chicago. Gun rights supporters challenged gun laws in Chicago and some suburbs immediately following the high court's decision in June 2008 that struck down a handgun ban in the District of Columbia, a federal enclave.

Tempers flare in health care debate at Capitol
Republican Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona indignantly raised his voice after committee Chairman Max Baucus of Montana urged him to hurry up and finish a point. An outwardly irritated Kyl told Baucus he was not delaying, but was instead trying to make an extremely important point about flaws in the legislation. Baucus shot back that while Kyl's point might be important, he also was holding up the panel's work.

Feds probe US Census worker hanging in Kentucky
When Bill Sparkman told retired trooper Gilbert Acciardo that he was going door-to-door collecting census data in rural Kentucky, the former cop drawing on years of experience warned: "Be careful."
GOP gets big bump of donors in August
Despite being in the minority in Congress, Republican campaign committees outraised Democrats by $1.7 million in August as they have aggressively collected political cash amid the rancorous debate over health care. Republicans also held an edge over Democrats in the amount of money available, when counting debts, as both parties set the stage for the 2010 elections, in which more than three dozen competitive House and Senate seats are at stake.
Stimulus funds boost number of federal jobs
Fourteen of the top federal agencies responsible for spending under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act say they've hired about 3,000 workers with stimulus money. That's helped fuel the continued growth of the federal government, which increased by more than 25,000 employees, or 1.3%, since December 2008, according to the latest quarterly report. During that time, the ranks of the nation's unemployed increased by nearly 4 million, Labor Department statistics show.
How Close is Obama to Complete Destruction of USA?
Obama advises that he will "improve" the US economy with massive and apparently unbridled spending on education and some nebulous "innovation" that will further gut and bankrupt the country. Note: This is, of course, patently insane. But, Obama thinks that the majority of We-the-People are equally as stupid as his adherents and most of Congress.
The Second Amendment, our guarantee of Sovereignty
Amendment 2 A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Not a day goes by where some paper in America publishes a column complaining about the number of guns owned by US citizens. Within the confines of the Obamacare debate, the writers all but scream about the danger these "Second Amendment Fanatics" pose to the rest of America,
HHS investigates Humana for mailer on ObamaCare
The Los Angeles Times reports this afternoon that the Department of Health and Human Services has begun an investigation into actions taken by health insurer Humana. Did they commit claims fraud with Medicare, or unfairly refuse to provide services? No - they had the temerity to commit the heinous act of free speech with their customers:
Pregame Report: The NEA Conference Call
Among the Obama Administration officials on the call were Buffy Wicks, Office of Public Engagement and the lead White House official on the President’s Serve.Gov initiative to promote national service. Also on the call was Nell Abernathy, Director of Outreach for Serve.Gov. One of their main goals on the call, it seems, was to encourage artists to produce works that would reinforce the President’s call for service; specifically through the Serve.Gov web-portal.
White House Office of Public Engagement and the National Endowment for the Arts
As US taxpayer dollars are openly being used to push the dictator’s partisan programs, this has now become criminal behavior. The only question is "how many crimes has Obama-the-usurper broken?" Coupled with Obama’s almost two decades long close ties to the criminal enterprise ACORN, this new illegal activity shows a pattern of corruption that is daily being exhibited by this White House and its pretend president of the United States.
Obama to slash nukes
This should not come as a big surprise, given Barack Obama’s political history, but his drive to drastically restructure the policy on American nuclear weapons could have a far-reaching impact on global security. Obama will team with Gordon Brown to push for an aggressive schedule of disarmament, so aggressive that even the French have begun to object, according to the Guardian. Obama has rejected the Pentagon’s first draft of the "nuclear posture review" as being too timid, and has called for a range of more far-reaching options consistent with his goal of eventually abolishing nuclear weapons altogether, according to European officials.
Obama says insurance mandate is not a tax, but legislation says otherwise
...the language of Democratic bills to revamp the nation's health care system doesn't quibble. Both the House bill and the Senate Finance Committee proposal clearly state that the fines would be a tax. And the reason the fines are in the legislation is to enforce the coverage requirement. "If you put something in the Internal Revenue Code, and you tell the IRS to collect it, I think that's a tax," said Clint Stretch, head of the tax policy group for Deloitte, a major accounting firm. "If you don't pay, the person who's going to come and get it is going to be from the IRS."
Remember to Look at the Big Picture
It seems we need to give up that old-fashioned notion that Congress - the men and women we elect and send to Washington - actually write the bills, they're not reading and passing. Turns out, they don't.
Media starting to notice ObamaCare’s false promises?
Small wonder Barack Obama wanted Congress to pass his health-care overhaul agenda as quickly as possible. While the media has mostly swallowed the sloganeering from the White House over the last few months, there are signs of increasing scrutiny on the wild claims by Obama and Democrats on their ObamaCare bills. Both the AP and CBS review the false promises from Obama just one day after Obama did his "full Ginsburg" on the Sunday talk-show circuit.

[EDIT] What about the next march on Washington? Pretty sneaky!
