|Cheney: Obama Unprepared to
Vice President Dick Cheney said yesterday that he has doubts that President Obama, understands and is prepared to do what needs to be done to defend the nation. Cheney -- speaking forcefully to Fox News’ Chris Wallace -- stopped a brief step short of accusing Obama of intentionally harming the nation.
Obama's Peace Charade
This week President Obama brings the Middle East peace talks charade to Washington. Meetings with Israeli peace negotiators are intended to create the perception of a breakthrough that musters support for tougher sanctions against atomic Iran. But Obama’s charade won’t advance Mideast peace or result in sanctions that shock Tehran into abandoning nuclear weapons.
A Congresswoman’s Romance with Fidel
Watson, evidently, is still riding the wave of ecstasy she experienced upon prostrating herself before Fidel Castro on her political pilgrimage to the dictator’s slave camp in April, 2009. Now, in a recent town hall meeting on health care, she’s touching base with the feelings of euphoria she experienced on her totalitarian odyssey.
Obama’s Communist Advisor and His Billion-Dollar Army
Although the show failed to mention it, this was a strategy first identified in a book I wrote a couple of years ago with Richard Poe called The Shadow Party. That book described the coalition of Communist and anarchist radicals, Democratic Party honchos, and multi-billionaires that the malevolent George Soros put together before the 2004 presidential campaign. The Shadow Party is now the party in power and running the show. [EDIT] Why is it that when one speaks of a radical communist, George Soros' name "always" comes up? Wake Up America!
New Zogby poll shows Obama’s approval at 42%
Pollster John Zogby: President Obama is now firmly between a rock and a hard place. Democrats want a strong healthcare reform bill with a public option. Republicans and more conservative Democrats do not agree. If Obama fails to get a bill that his base supporters want, the entire Democratic Party risks alienating them; especially 18-29-year-old First Globals, who could very quickly become disenchanted with politics. Obama needs to enter the fray in a very public way, which may mean knocking heads with both wings of his own party.
Prejudice in Paradise--Hawaii Has a Racism Problem
Celia Padron went on a Hawaiian vacation last year, lured by the prospect of beautiful beaches and friendly people. She, her husband and two teenage daughters enjoyed the black sand beach at Makena State Park on Maui. But a Hawaiian girl accosted her two teenage daughters, saying, "Go back to the mainland" and "Take your white ass off our beaches," says Padron, a pediatric gastroenterologist in New Jersey.
Phoenix Pastor Draws Protests After Telling Church He Prays for Obama's Death
A Phoenix-area pastor has started to draw protesters to his congregation after he delivered a sermon titled, "Why I Hate Barack Obama," and told his parishioners that he prays for President Obama's death.
And It All Comes Down To This. Redskins' Sellers apologizes for throwing American flag to turf
"I made a mistake by setting it down the way I did, and I apologize if I offended anybody out there," Sellers said. "I was asked to bring it out, last minute, didn't know who to give it to. I got hyped up and put the flag down. It was in the heat of the moment." [EDIT] You gotta admit...thats pretty lame. We all know what you meant to do Sellers.
Politically correct mumbo-jumbo in our schools
(keep in mind, this is for elementary students): -- "Working for peace in the global village" -- "Acknowledging prejudices and striving to overcome them" -- "Displaying the courage to be imperfect" -- "Practicing diligence" -- "Striving to change long standing habits and replace them with open, searching minds" -- Providing "opportunities that enable them to be fair to themselves and others" -- "Struggling with unsettled questions to gain understanding or insight" -- "Recognizing the interdependence among peoples" -- "Seeking social justice" [EDIT] Well folks, here is some of that change for ya!
Patriotism or prejudice? Teen suspended for criticizing Muslim student
The teen says an issue over the American flag is why she was written up and handed a five-day suspension from Springstead High School this week for criticizing a Muslim student. Heather says the other girl was sitting down during the Pledge of Allegiance.
Las Vegas paper puts Sen. Reid on Notice.
This newspaper traces its roots to before Las Vegas was Las Vegas. We've seen cattle ranches give way to railroads. We chronicled the construction of Hoover Dam. We reported on the first day of legalized gambling. The first hospital. The first school. The first church. We survived the mob, Howard Hughes, the Great Depression, several recessions, two world wars, dozens of news competitors and any number of two-bit politicians who couldn't stand scrutiny, much less criticism.
Stimulus checks lure Floridians to their arrest
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department set up "Operation Show Me the Money" to round up people wanted on charges ranging from second-degree murder to guns and drug charges to failure to pay child support.
Top 10 Ridiculous Democrat Quotes on Health Care
10 (tie) Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. -- Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.), responding to a town hall participant.
Another Failed Presidency
Barack Obama is failing. Failing big. Failing fast. And failing everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in forging connections with the American people. The incomparable Dorothy Rabinowitz in the Wall Street Journal put her finger on it: He is failing because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed loath them. Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard says he is failing because he has lost control of his message, and is overexposed. Clarice Feldman of American Thinker produced a dispositive commentary showing that Obama is failing because fundamentally he is neither smart nor articulate; his intellectual dishonesty is conspicuous by its audacity and lack of shame.
Obama: The Worst is Yet to Come
Those who have been living in a cave for the last several years might ask What’s the reason for this suspension if not dissolution of liberty? The answers are:
I. Because Obama can;
2. To shut down ALL opposition to his totalitarian programs and regime;
3. To stop any and all warnings going out en masse when Obama’s initial troops begin arriving in our towns and cities.
Don’t think so? Nothing else make any sense, folks.
Regulators Shutter Three U.S. Banks, Bringing 2009 Toll to 84
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was named receiver for Affinity Bank of Ventura, California, Bradford Bank of Baltimore and Mainstreet Bank of Forest Lake, Minnesota, after yesterday’s closings, the FDIC said. Assets of $1.9 billion and deposits of $1.7 billion from the three banks were turned over to new lenders at a total cost of about $446 million to the FDIC’s deposit insurance fund, according to agency statements.
Terrorists in America
With Attorney General Holder’s investigation of CIA operatives who utilized enhanced-interrogation techniques on detainees, including 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the Obama administration’s downgrade of the War on Terror to overseas contingency operations, and the administration’s release of terrorists captured by heroic U.S. military personnel, what should be a preposterous question to ask the President of the United States, now needs to be asked. In the interest of America’s national security, how will President Obama treat the terrorists in America?
Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That’s the lowest level of total approval yet measured for Obama. Fifty-three percent (53%) now disapprove. Eighty-one percent (81%) of Democrats approve while 83% of Republicans disapprove. As for those not affiliated with either major party, 66% disapprove.
Obama's Desecrators of 9/11
Sixty or so groups participated in the White House-sponsored teleconference call on Aug. 11 led by Yearwood. Yearwood and other leaders said on the call that they wanted 9/11 to be used for something "positive," "forward-leaning," and "productive," said a source with knowledge of the teleconference. Groups on the call included run-of-the-mill interest groups, environmentalists, labor groups, and extreme-left groups including ACORN, Apollo Alliance, Color of Change, Friends of the Earth, and Yearwood's Hip Hop Caucus.
Why the 'O'-ministration will implode in weeks
They've awakened the American worker, the American small-business owner, and the American voter. All three of which are now wondering aloud, "What on earth have we done?"
Obama 'czar' on 9/11: Blame 'U.S. imperialism'! White House 'rowdy communist' held vigil for Muslims
One day after the 9/11 attacks, President Obama's "green jobs czar" led a vigil that expressed solidarity with Arab and Muslim Americans as well as what he called the victims of "U.S. imperialism" around the world.
Czar: 'Spread the wealth! Change the whole system' Using White House position to push communist policies?
Just days before his White House appointment, Van Jones, President Obama's environmental adviser, used a forum at a major youth convention to push for what can easily be interpreted as a communist or socialist agenda
VA won't pay benefits to Marine whose injuries came from vaccine
It wasn't a bullet or roadside bomb that felled Lance Cpl. Josef Lopez three years ago after nine days in Iraq . It was an injection into his arm before his unit left the states. The then 20-year-old Marine from Springfield, Mo. , suffered a rare adverse reaction to the smallpox vaccine. While the vaccine isn't mandatory, the military strongly encourages troops to take it. However, it left Lopez in a coma, unable for a time to breathe on his own and paralyzed for weeks. Now he can walk, but with a limp. He has to wear a urine bag constantly, has short-term memory loss and must swallow 15 pills daily to control leg spasms and other ailments.
Liberal Fallout Zones
In Northeast Washington, DC off Minnesota Avenue a neighborhood sits tucked between the entrance ramps to 295 North and South. The four story buildings line a one way street that loops around in a circle. Residents of these buildings call the complex "Paradise." But in reality, this area is another liberal fallout zone. Instead of Nuclear disaster areas like Chernobyl in Russia, liberals in America have created desolate areas where the harm from their bombs (social programs) manifests itself as crime, hopelessness and generational poverty.
Union payoff should get stripped from ObamaCare
Earlier in the week, we found out that unions have good reasons to conduct an Astroturf campaign on behalf of ObamaCare - in fact, ten billion good reasons. The Detroit Free Press reported that HR3200 gives a $10,000,000,000 subsidy to union pension and benefit plans, a key component that had gone largely unremarked. Later in the week, the Detroit News’ editorial board blasted the payoff and demanded its removal.
Joyce Carol Oates: How does one woman’s life compare to decades of awesome Senate service? [EDIT] How is there any doubt about who these people are?
This reminds me of Elizabeth Wurtzel talking after 9/11 about how aesthetically beautiful the collapse of the Towers seemed to her. Anyone can have a monstrous thought, but it takes a special depravity to insist on publicizing it. And yet Oates’s point here is the unstated reason why so many lefties look the other way at Teddy’s most obscene moment, isn’t it? When you come right down to it, they’ve made a moral calculus and decided in Kennedy’s favor. It’s really as simple as that.
Town-hall clash! Arrest threat over Obama 'Joker' poster
"This used to be America," argued a protester outside a health-care town hall meeting in Reston, Va., after a security officer threatened him with arrest for holding up a sign with a picture critical of Barack Obama.
The officer's response? "It ain't no more, OK?"
Obamacare activists to crash D.C.'s massive tea party?
Just as thousands of taxpayers from across the nation are planning to descend on Washington, D.C., to take their fight against excessive spending, bailouts, growth of big government and soaring deficits to the front door of the U.S. Capitol – "Obamacare" proponents have responded with a well-funded counterattack scheduled for the following day.
Federal Reserve Board fights to keep its secrets
The Federal Reserve Board, despite being ordered to disclose to whom it awarded roughly $2 trillion in discount "stimulus" loans, is fighting to keep the information under wraps as a protected "trade secret.
Court orders Christian child into government education
A 10-year-old homeschool girl described as "well liked, social and interactive with her peers, academically promising and intellectually at or superior to grade level" has been told by a New Hampshire court official to attend a government school because she was too "vigorous" in defense of her Christian faith.
Bill would give president emergency control of Internet
Internet companies and civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet. They're not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft of S.773 (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency. [EDIT] WONDERFUL! ...transparency...
Students' take-home assignment: Census kits
Anyone tempted to ignore the 2010 Census will have a tough time doing it especially if they have kids in school.
Nancy Pelosi asks for $100K to fight 'smears'
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has launched an urgent effort to raise $100,000 by Monday to help combat what she calls GOP "smears" about health care reform. "Republican opponents of reform are coming out with one outrageous smear after the next, all aimed at derailing our progress. We must be able to counter their special interest-funded attacks and set the record straight," Pelosi wrote in a letter to Democratic supporters.
Support Fox News and Glenn Beck
Glenn Beck ought to get the Medal of Freedom, and Fox News deserves America’s heart-felt gratitude. Without Fox News, and Beck in particular, we would largely be in the dark regarding what is transpiring in our country. NBC News is nothing more than a propaganda outlet for the current administration’s agenda The other TV news outlets cannot be trusted NBC especially. As many of you know, the NBC network is owned by General Electric, which is in bed with the Obama Administration.
FCC Diversity Chief Says Republican Communications Policies Hurt Civil Rights
Lloyd said that, starting with Reagan, the Republican-dominated FCC had rolled back these rules, and with them the gains of the civil rights community.
Democrat: Republicans hate ObamaCare because they’re racists. Also, Castro’s a genius.
VIDEO:Pro-ObamaCare + pro-Castro = one crazy delicious GOP attack ad. The boss has been tracking Diane Watson’s race-baiting for years, but there’s one nuance to this she doesn’t mention: Watson endorsed Clinton over Obama last year, and therefore presumably knows only too well how energized the conservative response to HillaryCare was 15 years ago. How can it be racist to oppose a black president’s program after opposing the same program proposed by a white president? Unclear, but consider this a fresh, exciting addition to our national conversation on race. [EDIT] Where did these people come from?
Revolt Against Career Politicians in the US Congress Begins Today
Many Have Been Searching For the Means to Rid Congress of the Elites. Now that they have the means - will enough join the Revolt and change the face of Congress? The American Revolution of 2010 unveiled its web site two days ago, providing the Nation with a viable means to dramatically change the US Congress. With the current uproar over Congress' handling of health care proposals, their timing could not be better. Their unique strategy has a real potential to lure literally millions of Americans who are frustrated with the career politicians currently occupying the halls of Congress to join their revolt. Web site visitors should plan to spend an hour or so of their time fully exploring the site to glean a full appreciation of the comprehensive strategy.
Inhofe said, "We're almost reaching a revolution in this country."
Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) told Chickasha residents he does not need to read the 1,000 page health care reform bill, he will simply vote against it. "I don't have to read it, or know what's in it. I'm going to oppose it anyways," he said
Obama and the Thugs
Yes, they surrounded me. Actually, after the first two guys got me on the ground, they surrounded me and started kicking me in the head and in the back, and the knees and stuff like that. And after it was done, I got up, kind of dazed, looking for my glasses. And the one guy actually was coming at me again, and that's when the police came in and, you know, cordoned off everything and started, you know, started arresting people. This is change, all right, but I'll be darned if I see a whole lot of hope.
Push for Kennedy Successor Stirs Political Storm
On a day when members of both parties paid their respects to Mr. Kennedy, a Democratic icon who died this week of brain cancer, Republicans accused Democrats of hypocrisy. In 2004, the state's Democrat-controlled legislature changed the law to prevent the governor from appointing an interim successor after a U.S. Senate seat becomes vacant. Instead, the new law requires that a special election be held between 145 and 165 days after the position becomes vacant.
Democratic Health Care Bill Divulges IRS Tax Data
Section 431(a) of the bill says that the IRS must divulge taxpayer identity information, including the filing status, the modified adjusted gross income, the number of dependents, and "other information as is prescribed by" regulation. That information will be provided to the new Health Choices Commissioner and state health programs and used to determine who qualifies for "affordability credits."
Senate Proposal Gives President Authority Over Internet
nternet companies and civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet. They're not much happier about a revised version which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency.
Glenn Beck's fear of Obama: Seize power overnight
Rush: 'Most dangerous time in my life for freedom and liberty in this country'
Will President Obama "seize power overnight" in a move to consolidate White House control of the U.S. government? I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought," Beck said.
US snubbing Poland for 70th anniversary of WWII?
There is no mention at all in the US media about the anniversary ceremonies in Gdansk, and not much in the European media, either. Any event that has that kind of guest list has to be a significant diplomatic event. Yet, the website for US embassy in Warsaw doesn’t mention it. It does have an entry noting the Congressional recognition of the invasion’s anniversary, but doesn’t mention any involvement in the anniversary’s remembrance in Gdansk, or that Poland will commemorate it at all.
Surprise: ABC, NBC won’t air anti-ObamaCare ad
We have not rejected the ad, spokeswoman Liz Fischer told FOXNews.com. We have communicated with the media agency about some factual claims that require additional substantiation. As always, we are happy to reconsider the ad once these issues are addressed. Adams objects to ABC’s assertion that his group’s position is partisan. I’m curious to know which facts NBC thinks are in dispute. Cuts to Medicare, which even some Democrats are now hinting at? Rationing in Britain, on the heels of yesterday’s report about pregnant women being turned away from maternity wards? A crisis in Canadian health care, whose own administrators are calling for massive reforms even while they’re busy shipping patients across the border to the United States for treatment?
Guess who has a missile defense system? Not The US!
Russia has deployed a missile defence system near its border with North Korea and is studying other measures to protect its population from stray missiles, Russia’s top general said on Wednesday. A series of missile launches and a nuclear weapon test by North Korea this year alarmed its neighbours, including South Korea, China and Japan.
Video: Dean says no tort reform because trial lawyers too intimidating
Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, a medical doctor who served as governor of Vermont, said at a town hall meeting on Tuesday night that Democrats in Congress did not include tort reform in the health care bill because they were fearful of taking on the trial lawyers. This is the answer from a doctor and a politician, said Dean. Here is why tort reform is not in the bill. When you go to pass a really enormous bill like that the more stuff you put in, the more enemies you make, right? And the reason why tort reform is not in the bill is because the people who wrote it did not want to take on the trial lawyers in addition to everybody else they were taking on, and that is the plain and simple truth. Now, that’s the truth.
AIP column: Admission of Failure
Why did the Obama administration delay releasing the budget reconciliation numbers for a month, then try to sneak them into a Friday afternoon document dump in the middle of Barack Obama’s vacation? They knew that the addition of more than $2,000,000,000,000 (trillion!) to their deficit projections was more than an admission of poor forecasting. It also meant acknowledging that Porkulus failed.
Big Beck: Goes over 3 million viewers, beats O’Reilly
Though a little scandal might alienate advertisers, it’s pure ratings gold. Last night Glenn Beck had over 3 million viewers at 5pm, second only to O’Reilly for the night. But, Beck had more 25-54 viewers than O’Reilly (888K to 876K). Even though Beck airs before primetime, when there are fewer people watching TV, he had the most 25-54 viewers in the cable news world for the night.
Bozell to FTC: Keep Your Paws Out of the News Media
Mr. Bozell issued the following statement in response: To the degree that the government inserts itself in the news media, so too do we lose a similar degree of freedom. Every time a news outlet asks for special treatment from the government, that news outlet is compromised. The Federal Trade Commission has no authority whatsoever to insert itself in the news media. It is not the business of the government to get involved in the free press, period. The 1st Amendment is clear on that. These Obama socialists are out of control. One by one they are making power grabs on every facet of American life, but everything pales in comparison to any attempt to control the news media. That's flat out fascism. Hugo Chavez would be proud.
